Appointment of Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer to Upper Hardres Parish Council. This is a paid, home-based, part-time position for 6 hours per week and is ideally suited to someone seeking a part-time, flexible position which can fit around other work and family commitments.

Experience is preferable but not essential. Applicants should be flexible, motivated, organised and community focused, and bring sound administrative, communication, IT, financial and organisational skills. 

Duties include:

  • Arranging and attending six bi-monthly Parish Council meetings per year held at 7pm at Bossingham Village Hall
  • Preparation of Agendas and Minutes
  • Ensuring planning applications are dealt with and comments submitted to Canterbury City Council within deadlines
  • Acting as the point of contact for all Parish Council correspondence and liaising with other authorities and organisations
  • Dealing with all financial matters including production of financial statements for the Annual Audit
  • Maintaining the Parish Council website.
